Hello Jerome,

thanks for asking.

The path to the first item on the highest menu level is very straight
forward:
1) press the "menu" button
2) press the "left" button and keep it pressed

Et voilà :-)

You can find a list of menu shortcuts in the Remote Buddy FAQ.

Regarding the license code, sorry for the inconvenience again. Your
case is the absolute exception for sure.
