This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.

I, too, would be interested in a solution that would let any IR remote (specifically, the universal remote I use for all my other AV equipment) control the Mac I have attached to my TV.

I have the Keyspan Media Remote, and can get at least some control from my FiOS universal remote (not enough, but some), though Remote Buddy ignores this change and only works with the Keyspan remote itself.
