Re: Re: VLC behaviour suggestions: file browser

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I'll continue to work on the Movie Library.

For now, the easiest way to browse your avi/divx/.. files is to
customize the menu of VLC / QT Player / .. accordingly by dragging
and dropping the root folder of all of your divx files into the
Context Menu of Remote Buddy (Preferences > Behaviours > *Player of
your choice* > Context Menu).

This way, you gain quick access to your files from within the players
with the remote control.

You can also transition your movies into a VIDEO_TS folder structure:

My Movies /

Blockbuster Movie A /
Cover.jpg
VIDEO_TS/
BlockBusterMovieA_01.avi
BlockBusterMovieA_02.avi

Blockbuster Movie B /
AnyFileNameWillDo.jpg
VIDEO_TS/
MovieB01.divx
MovieB02.divx

and can then access them through the Movie Library with VLC (DVD
Player will not play back most media).

Benefits:
1) Covers attached to your movies.
2) Well organized movie collection.
3) Available now.

Downside:
Needs some time to initially set up.

Best regards,
Felix
