Hi Felix,

I also wondered about the Hen-Egg-Problem, in my case with the Apple Remote Keyboard. Its batteries last for months, and still I can wake up my Mac by pressing any button on its keyboard. There seems to be some pairing that goes far beyond sleep - sounds like a harmonius marriage to me.

Maybe the BD remote supports the same kind of energy saving technology, but this is pure speculation. Sony's documentation is probably meagre at best.

PS: Enabling RemoteBuddy's energy saving options prolonged my BD Remote's battery life to more than 10 days so far.
