this sounds like a network problem. As network setups can be pretty 
complex and thus fragile, here are a few diagnostic questions that 
help me to get an idea of what might be going on with your setup:

1) what status is it showing in Preferences > Hardware > AJAX Remote > 
Options?

2) Is your firewall actually active (if not, you won't need to add a 
passthrough)?

3) Are your Mac and your iPhone connected to the same WLAN network?

3a) If not, please describe how both your Mac and your iPhone connect 
to their respective networks.

4) Did you try several different IPs? If so, which interfaces (i.e. 
eth0, eth1, etc.) do they belong to?
