Press and release the 1 button on the Wii Remote to activate and deactivate the virtual mouse feature. Also, you'll need at least one strong point-source of infrared light—you can use the Wii "sensor bar", a battery-operated infrared light, or, at your own risk, a candle—to serves as the point of reference for the Wii Remote's pointer feature.
