This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.

This sounds like the bug Apple introduced in OS X 10.4.9 and that is
still there in OS X 10.5.

Please make sure you have the Remote Buddy kernel extension installed
- it works around that problem reliably. Please consult the FAQ for
more info on the kernel extension.
