can't update to 1.8

Hi

I have RB 1.7.4 installed and can't update to 1.8.

- If I do a check for new version I get the window with: "New updates are available ..." 
- I press the "Install" button 
- downloading progess is displayed 
- installing wait progress is displayed 
-> the same old window is displayed: "New updates are available..."

I than downloaded the RemoteBuddy.dmg and replaced the one in the Applications folder. 
-> When I launch it and check the version nr. it's still 1.74!!

How is this possible?

When I then check for new version I get the window with: "New updated are available..."

AAAHH
