Given that info and that you already have run LSRefresh on your copy 
of MS Office, I think it's possible that the file in question is not 
associated with PowerPoint and thus Remote Buddy can't retrieve any 
application capable of opening that file from Launch Services (LS).

Things you may want to check:

1) Does the file have a .ppt extension / the filename end in .ppt?

2) Select the file in the Finder, then press Apple + I. Which 
application is listed there at "Open with"? If none is listed, you can 
select PowerPoint there and also click on "change all" to make sure 
PowerPoint is associated with that filetype.
