Please remove below quoted hacks (especially the infamous Logitech
Control Center) from your system, reboot and try to reproduce the
problem. Problem with these hacks is that they load into every
application, alter the behaviour of core system functions, often in a
way that's incompatible or introduces new bugs - which then leads to
crashes in applications that would perform flawlessly otherwise.
