Here's a checklist:

1) Ensure you are using Remote Buddy version 1.11.4 in the about 
dialog (I know you said you use the latest version, but it has 
happened very often that users did not have the latest version even 
though they said so)

2) Do you use the actual Sony PS3 BD Remote as pictured here (link 
below)?

(background: I once received a report from a user who bought a 
different remote, which was offered to him as "BD Remote", but 
actually was a different model)

3) Check your batteries - are they fully charged?

4) Keep the Enter + Start buttons pressed for 2-3 seconds max, then 
release them and give Mac OS and the remote some time to find one 
another. Keeping the buttons pressed any longer resets the remote over 
and over again and effectively prevents a connection to be established.
