Thanks for the info.

Remote Buddy itself would never require you to perform anything like 
an archive/install of the OS. Since it doesn't modify any part of the 
OS, it can't have any effect beyond its removal.

Out of interest: 
Did you previously modify or remove any system files in an attempt to 
fix the Apple Remote issue in Snow Leopard? 
(I saw guides being posted in a few Mac forums that suggested users to 
do just that - and it'll do more harm than good)
