Bill, that's irrelevant to this issue. To go on a tangent:

What you ask for is *precisely* what RB gives us: the ability to use the Apple Remote with many different end-user programs, but only have it communicate with a single program (RB) which will control its different behaviors. I agree that the RB menu is... less than perfect, but that's why I don't use it. It's completely optional. Just go into RB's Preferences,in the Mapping pane, and remove the RB menu from all buttons. Then just assign the buttons hoever you like. For utter simplicity, assign them in Global Mapping and they'll be the same in every program. This flexibility is exactly what makes RB so great.
