Wakeup by remote is a hardware feature of the receiver. MCE/eHome receivers usually can only be woken with an MCE remote. I haven't seen any that could be woken with the Apple Remote.

If you're looking for a receiver that can wake your Mac with an Apple Remote, your only choice is one of the supported Keyspan Remote for iTunes/Keyspan Express receivers (which, however, wakes on *any* remote if you press a button long enough).
