Although the Manta-TR1 and the receiver you've bought share the same USB Vendor and Product ID, they are actually different. The Manta TR-1 is based on the model IR606 and you most likely bought the model IR606/Q (you usually can find the model number on the bottom side of the device).

Like other Formosa21 receivers (f.ex. the one sold in the Trust RC-2400 package), the IR606/Q doesn't seem to be capable of handling the long lead-in signal that's part of every Apple Remote IR code. Due to this, the receiver only sends incomplete/corrupt IR signal information over USB for Apple Remote IR codes.

For applications like Remote Buddy that use a full-fledged decoder for the Apple Remote IR codes to utilize all information contained in these IR codes, this effectively hinders recognition of the IR code.
