This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
UPDATE: Neither of my above mentioned methods solves the problem.

When I have Apple Remote support enabled in PHT settings, PHTHelper is running, taking exklusive ownership of the remote.

As soon as I set the remote setting in PHT to DISABLED, PHTHelper is gone and Remote Buddy diagnostics are no longer showing red alerts.

Just FYI.
