Thanks for asking.

Here's what I usually do:

1) Clone my boot drive to an external USB HDD.

2) Install OS X Developer Preview over it.

3) See if everything I depend on works.

4) Assuming everything I need works:
a) boot from my normal boot drive
b) clone it to the external USB HDD again (so I have a backup)
c) install OS X Developer Preview on my boot drive

There'll be more info on Remote Buddy on Yosemite in an upcoming blog post ( http://www.iospirit.com/blog/ ) within the next 24 hours.
