Hello Jonathan,
First of all, this application is fantastic. It is certainly
heading in the right direction.
Thanks :-)
I use my Mac Mini as a Media Center in my living room. I store all
of my DVDs on an external 1TB disk array in VIDEO_TS folders. I
honestly just wish FrontRow would support VIDEO_TS folders, since
VLC's interface plain sucks, and of course, I want to be able to do
it all from the remote.
If I can do the following at some point with VLC using RemoteBuddy,
I'll be one happy camper:
* Browse my movies from RemoteBuddy's window (like the Recent
Documents item, but for a particular directory I choose).
You'll be pleased with one of the features planned for preview 7 ..
* Configure the buttons like so:
Plus: Cycle subtitle track
Minus: Cycle audio track
Next: Next chapter
Prev: Previous chapter
I'll take a look at these ..
Pause/Play: Pause/play movie and send Indigo action to toggle
lighting
... and that one, too :-)
Basically, ultimately I want to be able to select a movie, press
one button and presto -- movie starts and lights go down. Pause
the movie, and lights go back up.
I'm at work and not at the computer, so if it can be configured to
do all this already, then yay. If not, please consider some way to
allow me to configure it like this :-)
If any of the functionality you mention is reachable via keystokes or
applescript, it should be fairly easy to build the respective actions
in the Behaviour Construction Kit, mark them as "global" and then map
them to the respective buttons.
The problem with Indigo is, though, that neither my home nor my
bureau has any home automation devices that I could test it with :-)
Best regards,
Felix
