Hello,

How can I set up the mousespot feature to be disabled by default?
Is the "Home" button usable ?

thanks.

You can turn off automatic Mousespot activation at Preferences >
Behaviours > Virtual Mouse > Options.

It will then no longer become automatically active again unless you
manually tell Remote Buddy to do so.

Have you selected "Virtual mouse" at

"Preferences > General > Advanced > Activate behaviour on startup

by any chance? Reset it to "None (recommended)", if that's the case.

On which occassions does the MouseSpot come up?

yes I have selected virtual mouse.. but that's because I only feel like using the virtual mouse.. have no need to use the rest of the behaviours...

Thanks for your follow-up. I've had another look at the source code
and noticed it was using the wrong prefs option's value to determine
whether to toggle on and off the mousespot.

Set the mouse cursor acceleration to zero for a work around (for the
value of this is used for both acceleration and mousespot auto-toggle).

Will be fixed in the next version.

Felix

Hello Felix,

First of all, congrats for this program it's very good.

I use my wiimote as a virtual mouse but I have a "hard" time clicking on icons or buttons as the mouse cursor moves a lot since my hand shakes a bit (I'm not sick by the way :) ).

I tried to put the acceleration mouse option to 0 to stabilize it a bit but of course it didn't help (actually i didn't see any change having it at 150% or 0% regarding mouse acceleration).

Am I doing something wrong? is there an option I missed? Could a further developement circumvent or address this "shaking" problem?

Thanks!

Hi Libel,

the Virtual Mouse and the IR mouse mode are independant from one
another (they use a common core, but settings of the Virtual Mouse
don't affect the IR mouse mode at all).

Regarding the "shake" problem, I'm aware of it and am trying to find a
way to filter out the shaky position info from the remote while still
maintaining responsiveness.

Best regards,
Felix

Hi, new user here ...

I've done some search but I can't guess how to use my Wii remote to control the mouse pointer.

I mean, the remote controler is paired and the Remote Buddy menu works well. All the buttons work perfectly but .... I'd hope to see the pointer move as I wave the remote. I can only control it using the d-pad.

Sorry if I'm asking about something
that has already been covered in this forum ...

Pietro,

Press and release the 1 button on the Wii Remote to activate and deactivate the virtual mouse feature. Also, you'll need at least one strong point-source of infrared light—you can use the Wii "sensor bar", a battery-operated infrared light, or, at your own risk, a candle—to serves as the point of reference for the Wii Remote's pointer feature. You can read more about that in the FAQ.
