RB 1.8: dock - menu

Since upgrading to version 1.8 I lost the ability to show RB in the menu bar, but not in the dock. It's now visible on both places. What can I do to prevent this?

These entries from the FAQ may be relevant to this topic:

General

The setting, whether Remote Buddy should show up in the menu bar or dock shows no effect. (FAQ015E0231)
If you switched from Tiger (OS 10.4) to Leopard (OS 10.5) and you have not updated your copy via the Online Updater since, it is possible that you are still running a copy of Remote Buddy with modified Info.plist file, which can lead to the described problem.
Solution:
1. Quit Remote Buddy.
2. Download a fresh copy of Remote Buddy ( http://www.iospirit.com/remotebuddy/download/ )
3. Replace your existing copy of Remote Buddy with the fresh copy of Remote Buddy.
4. Start the new copy of Remote Buddy.

Please allow me to just quote the FAQ entry I added a few hours ago
regarding this:

After an update, Remote Buddy appears both in the menu and the dock
although I've chosen another setting. (FAQ015E0208)

Whether or not an application appears in the dock is determined by an
attribute in the Info.plist contained in the application's bundle. The
value of this attribute determines whether or not an applications
appears in the dock over its entire run time. It is not possible for
an application to change this attribute at run time.
If you install Remote Buddy manually or if the Online Updater does not
have sufficient rights to adjust this file, Remote Buddy will appear
in the dock regardless of which setting you choose.

In order to change the settings, please proceed as detailed below:

• Please make sure Remote Buddy has the sufficient rights to change
the Info.plist contained in its application (app) bundle.
• Open Remote Buddy's preferences.
• Choose a different setting for the option "Remote Buddy appears"
• Choose the setting you want for the option "Remote Buddy appears"
• Restart Remote Buddy.
