Choose playlist?
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,

I'm just starting to try out AJAX RB, and it seems like a great solution.

However, I can't seem to choose a playlist when browsing my music. If I navigate to a playlist using my iPod Touch and select it, I'm presented with a list of the songs in that playlists. If I select a song in that list, though, nothing happens. If I select the green "+" sign, nothing happens, either. Nothing I can do seems to start the music playing.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or need to set up?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Thanks for asking.

Please navigate to the playlist in question in iTunes and check
whether there's an exclaimation mark in front of the track you wanted
to add / play. If that's the case, the file behind the entry in
iTunes' track database is missing or on a network drive that is oddly
only automatically mounted by iTunes when you doubleclick it in the
UI, but not when you tell iTunes to do so via AppleScript.

Also, please make sure you have no modal dialogs open (f.ex.
Preferences or Info) as iTunes will block AppleScript for as long as
these are open.

Other than these shortcomings of iTunes itself, no other problem
sources are known to me that could make it not respond to your actions.

Best regards,
Felix

Hmmm. Nothing has an exclamation mark, and there are no info windows open. I'm really not sure how this is supposed to work: should I be able to play any song/album, playlist when I browse to the> What does the green plus sign mean?

If I start RB and just hit play, the playlist being played defaults to the overall Music list, which makes sense. If I want to choose another playlist, what steps should I follow?

Thanks, again.

In the Library, when you tap on an item that does not have a > sign on
its right, iTunes should start playing it back immediately. The + adds
("enqueues") the track, album, etc. to your current playlist.

If you want to use choose another playlist:

1) Tap on "Library"
2) Tap on "Playlists"
3) Tap on the Playlist of your choice, so you can see the tracks it
contains
4) Tap on the track that you want playback to start at
