Behaviour Construction
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,

I am using Leopard and Remote Buddy 1.8.

Using the Behavior Construction Kit I can create actions and Behaviors, one at a time.

My problem is that when I construct a new behavior and then "Compile, test-drive and permanently install" the new behavior, any previously constructed and installed behaviors are deleted from the Behaviors Tab in the Preferences Pan.
Effectively I can only ever have one Constructed/Custom Behavior at any one time.

Can anyone shed some light on what I am doing wrong?

thanks

hi,
i can confirm the problem described above.
Though it used to work really fine on 10.5 some weeks ago I dont know if its up to the latest RB release or updating to 10.5.1.
i have some custom behaviours, but now only one can be compiled&installed at one time, and as i do so the previously compiled&installed behaviour disapear in the behaviour-list in the RB settings menu and the new behaviour has a wrong icon.
on restarting RB ALL custom behaviours are gone.
i tried it with exporting & manually installing the beahviours, but it has the same effect.

My System: MacMini G4 1.4, OS 10.5.1, latest Release of RB 1.8

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for your reports.

I can't reproduce this issue.

The only thing that I can imagine causing such an issue is when you
create several Behaviours with the same identifier (Behaviour
Construction Kit > Behaviour Factory > Specification and Metadata >
Identifier (right above the Copyright field).

As Remote Buddy identifies Behaviours by their unique identifier
rather than their name or file name, it'll replace Behaviours with the
same unique identifier irrespective of their (file) name or contents.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,
Felix

Hi Felix,
i think you solved it (as always..lol)
i have a lot behaviers with the Identifier com.yourcompany.scriptedbehaviours.yourbehaviour,
though it is strange because i dropped the application
on the bundle Indentifier field and this field and the icon field got filled out correctly.
That never happened to any behaviour i created before the latest release im quite sure.
thanks a lot and good night.

Hi Felix,

Thanks, that solved the problem, I manually changed the "YourBehaviour" part in the the identifier and all works.

The support with this product is really great. Thanks
