Too bad Front Row Access is so complex

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.

I just like using my Mac Mini with Front Row because it's so simple, and so much simpler than my Samsung DVD Player / SOny Home Theater, their 2 remotes and 80 buttons ...

Remote Buddy is awesome in many ways, but it totally defats the simplicity of Front Row .... almost ten key strokes just to launch Front Row makes it unusable for me.

If it left Front Row untouched and just added features when necessary, I'd be very happy with it, even if some features had to be removed (because one key would ne "reserved' for Front Row access ?
For now, it is very PC-like in its comprehensiveness and lack of simplicity.

I ordered it 3 hours ago and the order processing is just like that : I had 2 confirmation mails, there are several different status for order tracking .... but I still don't have my license number, although my paypal account has the debit.
(maybe because the developer is on vacation, for the delay ?)
I don't need order tracking ; I need click, pay, download, all in a few seconds.

I just checked Mira. Does not look as beautiful or complete, but it seems you can access Front Row in just 2 presses.They might get another 10 USD from me ...

If anyone has suggestions on how to make Front Row easily accessible when Remote Buddy is activated, I'd like to hear ...

Hardware - Apple® Remote

After uninstalling/quitting Remote Buddy, my Mac® no longer reacts to the Apple® Remote. (FAQ015E0241)
To enable you to use all capabilities of the IR Receiver of your Mac®, Remote Buddy is using its own driver. In contrast, all other applications with integrated Apple® Remote support usually use the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

As long as you're running Remote Buddy, Remote Buddy and its driver are responsible for turning the received button presses into actions. As soon as you quit Remote Buddy, this task is again handled by the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

If other applications don't use the interface to the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem correctly, this can lead to the effect that nothing happens when you press a button on your Apple® Remote. For as long as you're running Remote Buddy, issues like this are covered by Remote Buddy and it's driver and are therefore not visible to you. However, as soon as you quit Remote Buddy, the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem is back in control and any issues caused in it by other applications become visible.

Therefore Remote Buddy is neither the cause of the issue nor is it responsible for it. Instead, the cause of the issue exists independently of Remote Buddy. It's located elsewhere and can also only be solved there.

License, License code & online verification

How can I delete / reenter the license information from my Mac? (FAQ015E0158)
Please follow these steps to delete the license information from your Mac:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of Remote Buddy installed.
2. Choose "About Remote Buddy…" from Remote Buddy's pulldown menu.
3. Click on "Remove license and quit application".
4. Start Remote Buddy and check in "About Remote Buddy…" that the license has been removed successfully. If it hasn't, please log in as an admin user and repeat the procedure. If you have installed a license for all users of a computer, the license can only be removed when you are logged in as administrator.
