with the creation of other tools that would allow me to use the Wiimote to transmit MIDI information, I am very curious about how effective it might be in a live performance situation.
I'm posting this here because i noticed some knowledgeable responses on the topic "wii ir calibration", and because I would also like to use remote buddy for basic mouse/keyboard functionality.
I use a presonus firebox audio interface that just happens to have a rather bright blue/red LED on its front panel. I am wondering: 1. is that particular LED strong enough to provide an adequate IR signal? 2. what exactly would be the required strength of that LED/IR emitter in order to be used as a light source?
I am trying to minimize the need to deal with my laptop while in the midst of vocal performance.
I took this picture to demonstrate the brightness of the LED

of course, I can easily solve this problem with some other IR source, but it would be awesome if it were already integrated into my equipment. my only worry now would be that being on stage, the IR already broadcast from various sources at the venue might cause problems...
any response would be greatly appreciated
