I've been playing with the AJAX remote buddy and reading like crazy and have realized that there is no way to customize the remote beyond "menus". Given the flexibility of the AJAX ipod/iPhone mechanism it would be great to have a user defined button page similar to the AJAX "main menu" and "control pad" which already exists.
I would see this as a simple layer or wrapper to the current user defined "menus" but with a graphical interface that is somewhat customizable by the user. This would make this a MUST HAVE app, especially as a native iPhone/iPod app
I would think that this concept would not be too difficult to institute if it were kept simple, e.g.:
1. Offer two menu-button options: simple squares in a 4x4 grid; and a control pad in perhaps a 5x5 grid (with the ability to have "blank" buttons which show up as just the background).
2. The ability to provide user defined graphics at each button location.
3. The ability to nest menus (f.ex. I push a button and it runs an applescript to macro various components) and then opens a new "button menu" which waits for input (f.ex. the controls to a DVD player).
Is this present and I'm just not seeing it? If not, is this something that might be made available in the not too distant future? I'm considering writing a simple mac web page made from buttons which spawn applescripts to do this but would prefer to buy something that exist already. It seems Remote Buddy already does about everything else...
Feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
