XBMC: Customizing using Keymap.xml?

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,
I'm using my Harmony Remote with XBMC by having set up a number of logic remotes in Remote Buddy, which works pretty nicely. However, I would like to be able to customize my setup further by editing XBMC's Keymap.xml, though I'm not sure how to go about it.
According to the XBMC wiki, it should be possible to create a <joystick /> section with references to the commands RB sends XBMC through the Event Server. However – I can't find any information on what IDs that RB is actually sending (nothing is printed to any system logs about this), so I'm not sure what to put in there.

Is this possible at all; and if so – how? Just a starting point would be greatly appreciated :)

For the record: What I'm trying to achieve is to use the JumpSMS commands in XBMC when in library/file views, to be able to jump to a certain letter when pressing a number key on my remote.
