Updating Issues v1.8

Hi Felix!

Like another post, I too was having issues updating to v1.8. Each time I hit install it would download, get to the install window and come back up to the update window and want to download again.

I downloaded the DMG from the site, tossed the old Application, copied over the new one, then launched Remote Buddy. It came up in trial mode, so I inputted my serial # and when it goes to verify it says it can't.

So now I am stuck in trial mode.

Any thoughts?

Nevermind.

I quit the program and reopened, now all seems fine.

Haha.

There still might be a bug in there somewhere though.

Same thing happened to me. check what software version number it's reporting. If it doesn't say 1.8, delete it from you apps folder and install 1.8 manually. Mine was giving me fits before I realized it hadn't updated properly.

I've added a FAQ entry on this subject. Here's a copy of it:

If Remote Buddy's Online Updater does not have the necessary access 
rights, the Online Updater can't succesfully complete the update 
process. At the time of speaking, no error message will appear due to 
this. 
To update to the latest version, please download Remote Buddy from

http://www.iospirit.com/remotebuddy/download/

and install it manually.
