Hi,
I am using remote buddy since more than a year and right now I have been complettly satisfied with the product and I ways able to do all the things I wanted to. But since a few weeks I call an Ipod touch my own. I am really satisfied with the Ajax functionality, but I am missing to functions.
1. I am running a QNAP NAS with an integrated itunes server. When I am controlling itunes via the touch, I can access this shared library in itunes only like a playlist on the touch. I can not search for any information (artist, album ...) and I can not access music by looking at the genre. This both would be a very great thing for me, as I am dealing with round about 40.000 tracks. And accessing this amount of file with a playlis is absolutly not usable.
2. I would like to browse the eye tv epg on the touch, while watching TV without having all the eye tv menus on my TV screen.
Bye the way I have to say thank you for releasing the ajax functions in a 1.x release and not in a 2.x release. But if you would have released a 2.x, I would have bought it anyhow.

Hardware - Apple® Remote

After uninstalling/quitting Remote Buddy, my Mac® no longer reacts to the Apple® Remote. (FAQ015E0241)
To enable you to use all capabilities of the IR Receiver of your Mac®, Remote Buddy is using its own driver. In contrast, all other applications with integrated Apple® Remote support usually use the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

As long as you're running Remote Buddy, Remote Buddy and its driver are responsible for turning the received button presses into actions. As soon as you quit Remote Buddy, this task is again handled by the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem.

If other applications don't use the interface to the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem correctly, this can lead to the effect that nothing happens when you press a button on your Apple® Remote. For as long as you're running Remote Buddy, issues like this are covered by Remote Buddy and it's driver and are therefore not visible to you. However, as soon as you quit Remote Buddy, the OS X Apple® Remote subsystem is back in control and any issues caused in it by other applications become visible.

Therefore Remote Buddy is neither the cause of the issue nor is it responsible for it. Instead, the cause of the issue exists independently of Remote Buddy. It's located elsewhere and can also only be solved there.

Although our products can't cause any such issues, we're regularly contacted about such issues and asked for help. In order to make locating and fixing the cause of such issues as easy and efficient as possible, we've developed a free diagnostics tool: Remote Control Diagnostics. It can locate issues with a single click and will provide you with information about the issue as well as with instructions on how you can fix it.

Hello Jochen,

in all briefness:

1) Search is currently implemented internally in Remote Buddy, which
allows pretty efficient filtering, grouping, etc. That limits the
search function to the local library, though. I've added your request
to my to-do list, yet I can't promise anything.

2) I'd love to add that, yet EPG data is currently not available from
EyeTV.

Hi Jochen,
I use a ReadyNas and it runs Firefly's Itunes Server latest release (pen-ultimate build I think).
I use this script

and press the home button on my Wiimote (custom mapping).
Once connected to the Itunes Server I can browse by any category (Artist, Album, Genre...). I tried with Iphone, Browser, RB menu...all work (logically).

Maybe you could update your NAS to run a later release of Firefly?

Of course, search doesn't work (as mentioned by Felix).

Maybe there is a way to implement the EPG from a tvtv.de Account?
