Slideshow without iPhoto

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,
i want connect my MacMini (G4, 1.25GHz) to a LCD-TV without keyboard and mouse.

My main features are playing music, watch videos from files and DVDs and photos.

The first three issues are excelent solved with remote buddy!

I organised my photos in structered folders, like this without Apple iPhoto:
../Pictures/2008/Holiday/img0005.jpg
img0006.jpg and so on...

With the folder/file browse feature of remote buddy I select one photo and with the context menu of remote buddy i start the preview.app.

Is it possible to select more photos and start the preview.app in the slideshow-mode?
Exist an other tool that can provide a simple slideshow (without Ken Burns-Effect)?
Maybe a workaround with applescript?

Kind regards
Jochen
