Modified Playlist in iTunes and Remote Buddy
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
hi, I am using Remote Buddy since before release version 1.0 and I like it very much. But recently I have a problem wenn playing music videos from the intellegent playlist which contains all videos.

If iTunes has been started befor remote buddy has been started, I can switch to every video in the playlist perfectly. But if I start iTunes after starting remote buddy, it only plays the first video.

Today, I took some time to have a look at this problem and it seems, that when iTunes starts the intellegent playlist is newly build and remote buddy has a problem.

So I created a normal playlist with all music videos in it, restarted remote buddy: every thing worked just fine. I removed the first video from this list, then tried to start videos with remote buddy (it showed the just removed video in it's list) and only the first video could be played. All others could not be started.

Any suggestions what to do or is it some sort of bug?

Best regards,
Rene

Hello Rene,

thanks for the extensive feedback.

Which version of Remote Buddy are you currently using?

Did you install the update to the iTunes Behaviour available through
the Online Updater.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hello Felix,

I tested this behavior with Remote Buddy Version 1.8.10 and iTunes 7.6.2.
If there is an update for Remote Buddy or via Apple Update Service, I install it directly.

I can't say, since which version of Remote Buddy this behavior occurrs, I think it's round about two month? I hoped a newer version would solve the problem.

I love Remote Buddy and use it a lot, therefore I would be very glad if there will come up a solution.

Thanks...

Regards,
Rene

Hello Rene,

the update to the iTunes Behaviour is just a few days old. If you
select "Check for updates…" from the Remote Buddy drop-down menu, are
any items displayed?

Hi Felix,

I had the last update already installed. If I check for updates, there is nothing new. Under the behavior tab everything seams to be fine. There are some options for iTunes. Nothing seams to be unusual.

Sorry, but there is nothing to help you with so far I can see.

Best regards,

Thanks for the info, Rene!

Can you send me your "iTunes Library" and the accompanying XML file to info@iospirit.com
, please?

I'll then be able to take a closer look what is going on.
