EyeTV remote - not showing in hardware list
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,

I have an EyeTV 310 connected to my Mac Pro and everything is working great with the AJAX remote. The 310 is responding to the EyeTV remote just fine and I can control EyeTV with it.

However, I don't seem to be able to use the EyeTV remote with anything on the Remote Buddy side.

It says on your website that they should work together, and that Remote Buddy will identify the remote after the initial keypress, but it just isn't responding to it. It is not listed in the hardware list either - only the AJAX Remote and Hotkey Remote are listed.

I wonder if it isn't working because Remote Buddy can't receive IR data from the 310's IR receiver? Of course every other Apple machine now comes shipped with a built-in IR receiver, so maybe this is how Remote Buddy can usually work with the EyeTV remote?

Please could you confirm this for me? Can Remote Buddy get IR data from the 310's IR receiver, or will I have to buy another IR receiver? If it can't, please could you maybe consider this for future functionality?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for asking.

The EyeTV 310 is currently not supported and that's also what the
website says:

-- cut --
[..] On the hardware side, all TV products from Elgato are supported
in conjunction with their bundled remote control (currently still
EXCEPT products of the EyeTV lines 250, 250 Plus, 300/310, 400/410,
500, 610, EZ) [..]
-- cut --

(uppercase added for emphasis)

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz

Aha, apologies! That will teach me for speed reading. I missed the word "except". Thank you.

Can you tell me if there are any plans in the pipeline to introduce compatibility with the 310 (and the other listed EyeTV products)?
