AJAX remote connection errors on a non iPhone/touch device

Guten tag Felix!

First of all thanks for Remote Buddy, I'm a paying customer and love it. What I would love even more though would be for the amazing sounding AJAX powered remote to work on my Nokia N82.

It's a great phone with a pretty good browser based on WebKit, so it should be able to handle the AJAX remote, if only it would actually load.

The remote opens fine in Opera on my Macbook, but when I try and open on the phone using a wifi connection or 'internet sharing' I always get a timeout error. All firewalls on my mac are turned off.

I know that Nokia/S60 phones are not officially supported, but I just wonder if you have any thoughts?

Just to add some more details, I can access and use the AJAX remote from an iMac connected to the wifi network, but I'm still getting timeouts on the phone.

Thanks for asking.

I can't really provide you with help specific to Nokia phones, but
given your description:

Did you enter the Bonjour address into the phone by any chance?

Bonjour addresses will only work on Macs, iPhone, iPod Touch and
Windows, if you have manually installed Bonjour onto it. I think it's
unlikely that Nokia phones support it.

Therefore, please try entering the IP addresses, including port
number. You may also want to turn on password protection for the AJAX
Remote, as that ensures the first thing the browser will receive is a
static page. If password protection is turned off, the AJAX web app is
served to the browser directly, which may - if the browser is not
capable or up-to-date enough - leave you with nothing but a white
screen.

You may also want to turn on logging for the AJAX Remote and watch
your console.log in Console.app for accesses from your phone. That
way, you can exclude that it is a network problem.

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz
