Can i map my own shortcuts to keys...???
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
example:
i know that in VLC key "J" will adjust subtiles up and "H" will adjust down.
this for me is something useful when i watch divx movies and sometimes the subs are out of sync and i need to sync with remote control.
another example: key A will change aspect ratio etc etc...
Can i asign those keys to apple remote control keystrokes?
i come from XP and there was a program named UICE that i could assign every shortcut of the app to my remote control key that i wish with one press.
Is this possible with remote buddy?

thankz, sorry for my english.

hello again.
to answer my question, after 1' search i realized that yes, this is possible through "mapping/custom actions" and then u set the keystroke.
now i have something else :)
with my apple remote control i have only 6 buttons(12 held) so there are a lot of limitations.
if i find another remote control(and is supported) with 40 keys for example, remote buddy will still support only the 12 buttons?
i think yes/i hope not
but plz answer.
i have an old mac with no IRreciever so i bought the microsoft remote control and reciever and i use it with my remote control from ipod+universal dock i bought.
but now i also have the microsoft remote control,A LOT OF KEYS.
is there any way/remote control that remote buddy can use all of the keys?

thankz

Remote Buddy generally supports all buttons (except power on/off
buttons for obvious reasons) of all remotes it does support.

For a full list of supported hardware, please see the Remote Buddy
website.

dear felix thanks for your quick reply :)
as i understand and as i read in the faq about the MCE receiver is that the remote control is not supported but..

"This remote control is currently not supported. Support for it may be available in the future, though." (from tha faq)

it would be amazing to use this remote control and program all the keys to application or OSX shortcuts.
this is what i was doing when i was in pc with my pinnacle remote control and the software UICE, so this is the only thing i miss now in my mac.
12 keys only (apple remote control) is a big limitation.
i hope support will come in the future and this happen before the 2 version of remote buddy, cause i am gonna buy when the trial finish.
and i read that i'll have free updates for all the 1.xx updates
