Harmony 880 Setup Question
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Happy new year everyone :)

I have a Mac mini set up as an entertainment PC and I've been using RB with my Harmony 880. I had found a way to put the mini to sleep when exiting the activity and it worked flawlessly, however after rewiring my Mac mini yesterday, it stopped working properly. The remote doesn't put the Ma to sleep mode anymore.

I've tried all the possibilities I know, such as Global mapping or telling the 880 to send a custom command, plus, deleting the device in the Harmony's utility then adding a new one as an AppleTV, but nothing helps.

I've done this for 2 or more times, but just can't recall what I am missing. Please help to troubleshoot.

Thank you in advance!

Happy new year and thanks for asking.

When your Harmony 880 is able to fully (that includes long presses,
not just a replay of a short press) emulate an Apple Remote, you can
use it with Remote Buddy just like an Apple Remote and use all of the
usual features. You could map a "Put computer to sleep" action to a
button on a per-app basis or hardwire it to a button (=> find step by
step instructions on both in the Remote Buddy Help that's included
with Remote Buddy).

If you have trouble with setting up your Harmony 880 however, please
contact Logitech's support for assistance. Maybe others on the forum
can help you, too. Not owning a 880 myself, I personally can't help
you with that.

Best regards,
Felix Schwarz
