Hi,

I'm waiting for something like No. 1 as well. To me it would be good to have a function to add all files from a specific folder (or the DVD drive for example) to the playlist of VLC, so that you can browse with the forward and backward button through them. 
I have the same situation that some movies are split over several files on one DVD and currently I'm closing VLC after one file, going back to the file browser and opening the next one.
