I too am experiencing the "application not responding" problem, and it brings my PowerMac to a slow crawl. Activity Monitor tells me that RB is using > 60% CPU cycles, and periodically the RB line turns red and says it's not responding. Similarly, hovering my mouse over the RB menu item reveals a spinning beach ball. Force-quitting RB returns my computer to full speed.

I think it's a conflict with ElGato's EyeTV because quitting EyeTV resolves the CPU issue within RB. Restarting EyeTV and watching a recorded (not live) program causes RB to be a CPU-hog again.

Important specs for my setup: 
PowerMac G5 Dual 2 GHz 
2 GB RAM 
Mac OS 10.4.9 
EyeTV v2.4 (happened with older versions too) 
RemoteBuddy 1.0 preview 14 (happened with older versions too)
