If you observe such resource hunger
again, I'd be very interested in what
actions you have performed with Remote
Buddy last, so I get an idea of what
could be causing this on your system.

When I returned from work today, RB was vacillating between CPU usage of 10% and 30%. Real Memory is 42 MB and Virtual Memory is 265 MB. The CPU usage seems high, but it isn't interfering with my Mac's usage & I never see spinning rainbow wheels.

Regarding the menu/dock issue: the
latest release fixes this.
