This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.

There appears to be a problem with simultaneous handling of
AppleEvents (AppleScript) and keystrokes in EyeTV 3.1. The delay you
currently see is 2 seconds - the timeout of the AppleScript that asks
EyeTV whether it is currently in menu mode.

I already have a working workaround, but it'll still need some further
testing before it can be released.
