If you look into the start objects in your system preferences - is 
Remote Buddy started before or after EyeTV?

How many applications are there in total?

It may be a timing issue.

In either way, Preview 7 should finally contain a new feature that 
was originally planned for Preview 6 that will provide an easy way to 
work around such problems in general.
