iTunes song pop-up

I think the itunes "new song" pop-up should be disabled by default. I didn't realise it was remote buddy that had started making it appear, and it's taken me some time to figure out that remote buddy was making the windows appear, I assumed it was some new part of iTunes.

I like Remote Buddy, but don't really see why it should start print "new song" pop-ups in iTunes...

Hello Cristopher,

thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!

I've thought long about this one. Initially, it was disabled by
default, but I wasn't sure whether people would discover that feature
on their own. Yet, it certainly is useful for most users. I think
I'll disable it again in future versions when the website has
undergone a revamp.

Best regards,
Felix

It is tricky. Personally, I find it annoying popping up in front of whatever I am working on at the time, but I can see why some people would like it.

My main problem with it is that it doesn't identify itself as coming from Remote Buddy, but then again writing "Remote Buddy" in the window on every run wouldn't look quite as cool. Not sure what the answer is really :)

The two problems I am having with the iTunes song notification is that:

(1) I would like to be able to turn it off since I use Growl for these notifications.

(2) If I can\'t turn it off, I would like to be able to customize it.

Is there a way I can disable before the next release since I really don\'t want it on.

Thank you.

Hello Gary,

thanks for your contribution!

You can disable it very easily. Go to Preferences > Mapping, then
select the "iTunes" entry and have a look at its "Options"-tab. You
can then disable it there.

Excellent. I hadn't noticed the option tab in that window. Thank you for the quick reply.

All the best,
