Problem with RB
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I have RB installed on a mac running Mac OS X Server 10.4, and there seem to be some sort of problem with RB's ablilty to discover aditional applications and thereby activating other behaviors, like the MPlayer behavior. I have tried using the LSRefreash app but with no luck.

Is there a way to force RB to show these behaviores.

Hello Aron,

thanks for asking.

Two ideas:

1) Remote Buddy needs to be restarted after you installed a new app,
as it only scans for apps via Launch Services on startup.
2) Are you using the latest MPlayer version (the one from sourceforge
is not the latest)? Outdated versions from the sourceforge page have
a different bundle identifier and thus can not be detected. Updating
to the latest, official MPlayer version fixes the problem in that case.

Best regards,
Felix

I managed to solve the problem. When you download Mplayer from mplayerHQ the dmg image contains two installers one UB installer and one PPC installer.

If you install the PPC version i don't show up in RB.

Thanks for sharing this one!

It seems the PPC version has a different bundle identifier.
