Minor Feature Requests
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Just trying to get a few features in before version 1.0 final.

1. Hide mouse after x minutes of idle.

2. Ability to toggle the extra menu items in the iTunes menu; it looks a bit crowded right now.

3. Would it be possible to create an action that when selected, it would send a blank signal to the monitor and have it go into power-saving mode?

Hi,

thanks for sharing.

Just trying to get a few features in before version 1.0 final.

Always keep in mind the final 1.0 is not the last release of Remote
Buddy ;-)

1. Hide mouse after x minutes of idle.

Good idea. I've added it to the Todo list.

2. Ability to toggle the extra menu items in the iTunes menu; it
looks a bit crowded right now.

Expect to see this in eiher 1.0 or 1.1 :-)

3. Would it be possible to create an action that when selected, it
would send a blank signal to the monitor and have it go into power-
saving mode?

This is on my todo list. The problem is that currently (and from what
I have researched from Darwin kernel mailinglists) there is no way to
do this from user space. This functionality requires a kernel
extension, which is something both critical to the stability of the
entire OS and something I haven't done yet. So this will not be in
1.0 either for obvious reasons :-)

Best regards,
Felix

I felt the need to bump this request.

I too would love to see the "Hide mouse cursor after x SECONDS" feature.

Also, paired with this, I'd love to see a way to make the cursor not start in the upper left corner. I currently have Menu Eclipse running to replace the top menu with a black bar, but with the mouse cursor starting overtop it, it remains lit up. If Remote Buddy did this as well as the Menu Eclipse function, even better! Remote Buddy is an irreplaceable component in my HTPC setup, I could only wish these two features were available to make my setup truly streamlined and hide the OS completely.

Thanks alot Andree, I'm excited to have this issue fixed for me!

Now if only the mouse cursor would hide itself.
