wii remote - save battery

hi, first of all let me congratulate you for the excellent program you have developed!
As my wii remote's battery doesn't hold on more that 1 week, i would like to make a feature request:

Can you make an option that forces the remotebuddy to continuously look for bluetooth devices?
like that i could power off the remote ( using the power button) and when i would like to enable it, all i had to do was press 1+2 buttons , and the wiimote would be paired instantly.
dont know if it is possible, but it should be a nice feature to implement i guess.
or maybe some other way to save the wiimote's battery...
is it possible?

what makes the battery of the wiimote run out so fast? does anyone know? maybe.. the blue led on it?

edit : i found a topic regarding this issue and you said that maybe the "inquire-all-the-time option" should be the best option. how are things going? :)

well i see a "keep searching until you find at least one remote control" option in the bluetooth receiver, can you make it like.. "keep searching if no remote is connected" ? remove the message that says to press 1 + 2 buttons to pair, and it would be continously scanning for remotes in the background :)

what do you think about this?

Hello Filipe,

thanks! :-)

Regarding the battery lifetime, the Wiimote has a lot of technology
crammed into it. Bluetooth in the Wiimote itself only takes a maximum
of 2.5 mW as far as I know.

However, there's also the IR sensor, the acceleration sensors, the
LEDs and speaker and sure enough circuits that tie all this together.

Remote Buddy currently already tries to be as energy efficient as
possible by only enabling those hardware features it actually is
using. The only general recommendation I can give is to buy a
recharger and rechargable batteries. Saves money and the doesn't
impact the only earth we have quite as much.

Regarding improved Wii Remote support: please wait for RC2.

Best regards,
Felix

just to say that by implementing this in the new release made me buy the application :D just ordered :D YEY battery is now with a very very increased lifespan! :D

im very happy now!
Great product!
n1 :D

just a suggestion:
can you put a menu option to display the battery status ( wich is in the Hardware menu of the wii remote ) ?
so that it was not necessary to go to the application preferences to check it?
