Behavior wanted: Path Finder
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I haven't studied up yet on the Behavior Kit, so I'm a newb. I searched for Path Finder in the forums but didn't find anything.

Anybody have a behavior already built?

Hello Rob,

thanks for your posting.

I'm a casual (and registered) PathFinder user, too. Sorry if my
question sounds odd, but what should such a Behaviour do?

Navigation through the filesystem is already possible via the "Files"
part of the menu. Or are you looking for a feature that only
PathFinder can provide in the files area?

Best regards,
Felix

You're absolutely right, Felix. I didn't realize that RB had the files browsing capability (silly me for not exploring more!)

As for why one might want a dedicated Path Finder behavior, I suppose just for the sake of familiarity. For those of us die-hards that love the program, it's nice to be able to use just the remote to do the simple tasks: open a new tab, close a tab, switch tabs, delete files.

But I did get acquainted with the Behaviour Kit and have made a Path Finder add-on.

Here are its features:
+ cursor up
- cursor down
} cursor right
{ cursor left
+ (hold) ascent folder
- (hold) descend folder
} (hold) new tab and select
{ (hold) delete tab and select
Play enter (only works if you have the Enter key set to double-click)

If you're interested, I can send you the exported behavior file.

Hello Rob,

thanks for your explainations. And yes, I'd be very interested in the
Behaviour as well :-)

Please send it to the info@..this site's address.. I'm looking
forward to give it a try and maybe integrate it into the mainstream
release.

Best regards,
Felix
