Missing actions in Item Library of behaviour's Context Menu
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi!

Eg. in VLC's behaviour there're a number of actions in "Button mapping". However on the "Context Menu" tab of the behaviour in the "Item Library" list I see only a few actions (Toggle full screen, System volume slider and Movie Library). How can one add any of the other actions to the Context Menu (eg. Recycle all files) that are already available in button mappings?

Hi!

A Behaviour defines different lists of actions and thus their
availability in different places. Custom Actions do currently not
show up in the Context Menu tab, but this is actually an oversight
and I'll change this with one of the next updates.

A work around would be to define the action you want to place in the
menu as Action in the Action Factory of the Behaviour Construction
Kit and ticking the "Global action" checkbox for it. It will then
show up under "Actions > Miscellaneous" in the Context Menu Item
Library.

Best regards,
Felix

Thanks for the quick reply!

You said that custom actions (which I understood as user-defined actions) do not show up as items to be put into context menus. However it's not only custom actions that do not show up. Eg. for VLC there're quite a lot builtin actions (I mean actions that came with the behaviour built into Remote Buddy) that do not show up in the Item Library for Context Menus, but are available as button mapping. So this limitation is not only for custom actions, but for most builtin actions too.

You're absolutely right, but this is by design as well. The VLC
Behaviour just does not expose more than those actions available for
picking right now globally, either. This, too, is an oversight of
mine and will change.
