auf Mauseingaben reagieren?

Ich weiss nicht inwiefern dies die Idee von RemoteBuddy überschreitet, aber gibt es eine Möglichkeit die Menuführung mit der Maus zu steuern? Warum ich dies tun will?

Ich möchte mir für mein Auto einen kleinen Touchscreen zutun und dabei wäre das interface von RemoteBuddy geradezu wunderbar für die Steuerung von z.B. iTunes, bietet es grosse Oberflächen als "Touchfläche" an.

danke, Philippe

Context: Philippe is asking for a mouse-clickable version of Remote
Buddy's menu.

Hello Philippe,

thanks for asking. Please note that this an English forum, so I'll
reply in English (wenn Sie die Antwort auf Deutsch benötigen,
kontaktieren Sie mich bitte per Kontaktformular oder Supportdesk).

Apart from scrolling (there are no scrollbars), such a thing would not
be too hard to implement. You can, however, get both of these (usage
by mouse and scroll bars) by using Remote Buddy's AJAX Remote in a
browser of your choice (FireFox and Safari should work fine - I
haven't tested others).

You can find a step by step guide on how to set up the AJAX Remote on
the "iPhone" subpage of the RB website.

Best regards,
Felix

Hi Philippe, hi Felix!

Sorry to butt in on your thread!!

Cool, i think this is along the same lines as the idea i just posted about!, how weird! im not sure though because i dont speak german!
anyway, if im right there is definitely a demand for this functionality! at least there's two of us anyway!!

Maybee you could make a sister app based on the same program, but with this functionality for mouse users(MouseBuddy!), the iphone ajax solution interface is great and im not sure if that was what philippe was thinking of but i think that would be a great solution too...just minus the browser!

Just a suggestion!

I'd be interested to know how many more people would buy for this functionality though?!

Thanks,
Acam

Hey

Sorry for posting in german, I somehow didn't realize..

The Ajax solution is indeed cool. But since I want to be using the original remotebuddy menu and control it on the same screen (touchscreen) the browser is kind of not giving me the "input feel" I'm looking for.

Would it be relatively easy to just add an option in the preference pane such as "enable mouse input" or the possibility to add a virtual mouse input.. ?

thanks

@Acam: We did have similar thoughts :-)

Hi Philippe,

Just out of interest,
are you also using a wacom or are you using a finger based touch screen for your input?

The good thing about this solution is that it could be utilized by a mouse, stylus, finger or a wiimote!

Any thoughts Felix ?! ;)

Thanks,
Acam

The problem I see with this is that it would mean to add controls like
a slider to the menu, which is both hard to integrate with the look
and feel and the functionality Remote Buddy focuses on. So, for now, I
can really only point you to using the AJAX Remote in a browser. Be
sure to untick the checkbox in front of the Behaviour's name in
Preferences > Behaviours, though, as otherwise the Remote in the web
interface will control your browser and not the apps.

I might consider an onscreen remote at some point, but right now,
other areas require my full attention.

Best regards,
Felix

Hi Felix,

You might want to have a look at how eye tv's full screen menu works with the mouse, it is fully functional with both the remote and a curser!

Also a slider might be useful just to get an idea of how many items/actions you have (instantly) in a menu without having to scroll to find out!

Just a suggestion!

Thanks,
Acam
