KEXT install always comes up
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
I've determined that for my setup, I don't need the KEXT that RB provides. However, there is a bug in that even though I have the "don't show again" pref set for the install dialog, it comes up at every launch...

Hello Preston,

thanks for your post.

I've looked through the code responsible for this and couldn't find
any bug in it.

Do you get the "A new version of the kernel extension is available"
dialog rather than the dialog titled "Remote Buddy Kernel Extension
Installation" by any chance?

The first one *only* appears, if you already have an older/different
version of the kernel extension installed and can't be turned off. To
turn off this "an update is available" dialog, just uninstall the old
version - either by using Remote Buddy's Setup Wizard or by deleting
RBIOKitHelper.kext from /System/Library/Extensions/ and rebooting.

Best regards,
Felix

I was able to fix this by reinstalling, then re-removing the KEXT file. Thanks.
