K800i & Pairing
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi
Somehow I am too stupid.
I installed the HID and started paring wizard.
There's written that I have to press 2 keys to get it paired.
I have no clue which keys I have to press. :(

Any idea which keys I have to press?

I can use the K800i as remote but it isnt listed as a supported device.
I am kinda confused. :(

Thx

Remote Buddy's setup wizard only supports the WiiMote and Sony BD
Remote. It is not for pairing with mobile phones.

Please pair your phone with your Mac using the standard OS X Bluetooth
Assistant. Many SE phones can act as a keyboard. By uploading the HID
file, the keyboard they emulate consists of Hotkeys handled by Remote
Buddy.

Thus, the Hotkey Remote represents your mobile phone.

Please note that the Hotkey Remote is the only remote that is limited
in functionality atm - due to the way it works.

Best regards,
Felix

but i dont know how to use this!! how can i use the remote ? i can pair the mobile but nothing else :(

why not make a «jar application? like sailing clicker uses? would be soooo nice :) and you could support any phone that has java support :D

It's easy:

1) make sure Remote Buddy's Hotkey Remote is active (it is by default)

2) upload the hid file to your mobile using the Bluetooth file
transfer utility of OS X

3) locate the keyboard / remote control entry in your mobile's menu
(=> please consult the manual for that) and make use of it

4) pair the mobile using OS X' Bluetooth preferences - it should be
recognized as keyboard now

Please note that I don't have any Sony Ericcson mobile myself, so all
I can do is pass on the information I got from users.

hi! thanks for the reply!

where should i upload the hid file ? i put it on the phone, but i guess there must be a place where i should put it in order to work ...

does anyone know?

EDIT: found! instead of using the browse device and upload the file, just use the send file , choose the device and it is auto-installed in the phone ! :D

perfect! ;)

Hi Filipe,

I would love to tell you, yet I don't have an SE phone myself.

Sony offers the tools to create and edit the HID files here:

http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/docstools/misc/p_misc.jsp

Maybe you can find the info you need, there.
