Im just new using remote buddy but its a incredible handy tool.
Just wondered if it have or if it will have any adobe flash support.

Since I do more school presentations with adobe flash than with adobe acrobat, this will be really useful.

Thanks for such great tool :D

Thanks for asking.

Flash can come in so many forms and expect so many different input
(some flash presentations will expect specific key presses, others
will expect mouse events or clicks, again others a mouse wheel event
and so on), that it'll remain impossible to support it.

You can, however, always use Remote Buddy's built-in Behaviour
Construction Kit to create your own Behaviour to control your specific
Flash animation. More information on the "For Developers" section of
this site. A video tutorial (suitable for non-developers) can also be
found there.

If all you need is the emulation of cursor keys, the built-in Virtual
Keyboard Behaviour will already fit your needs.

Hi,

Is there a better way then changing the 'Left' and 'Right' key events at Mapping > Global mapping?

When changing the Apple Remote 'Left' and 'Right' key events to 'Cursor key left/right' flash detects this through the KeyboardEvent, but it overwrites all other behaviours. It would be great if I could create several specific settings and save them.

Thanks for asking.

The global mapping is only meant to be used to hardwire a specific action to a button. If you don't want that but instead want to benefit from the diversification offered by Behaviours, leaving the global mapping table at its defaults is the best thing to do.

Then, regarding control of Flash:

1) If you're running your Flash app inside a browser:
Change the mapping of the respective browser under Prefs > Mapping > [Name of Browser].

2) If you're running your Flash app as part of a native Mac app of your own:
Make use of the Behaviour Construction Kit to create a Behaviour for that Mac app. Find a video tutorial on the BCK here:

Hope that helps.
