Connecting 2+ Wiimotes to operate different behaviors
View

This posting is older than 6 months and can contain outdated information.
Hi,

I am attempting to use remote buddy in order to interface multiple wiimotes as joystick controllers back to a game created in flex. I have defined 4 behaviors that map wiimote buttons to different keystrokes. For example in Behavior 1 - Up maps to 'W' and in Behavior 2 - Up maps to 'R'.

However, when I simultaneously pair more than one Wiimote and attempt to activate different behaviors on each, only the last activated behavior stays in effect for both Wiimotes. In other words, I activate Wiimote 1 to behavior 1 and the Wiimote 2 to behavior 2 and at this point both Wiimote 1 and 2 use behavior 2.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks,

Greg

Thanks for asking.

There can only be one active Behaviour at a time - much like there can
only be one application having "focus" in a common desktop OS.

You can, however, assign different actions to the buttons of each
individual Wii Remote. Remote Buddy manages button mappings seperately
for each Wii Remote.

So the solution is:
1) package up all of your actions into one Behaviour, compile and
install it
2) connect all the Wii Remotes you want to use to Remote Buddy
3) go to RB > Prefs > Mapping > "Your Behaviour" and assign the
actions to the buttons of the remotes.
